Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the work of making something come up as close as possible to #1 in Google, Yahoo, MSN / Bing, YouTube, etc.
Every day we get asked how it works, and there’s no one magic bullet. Google has literally billions of dollars at stake to constantly be improving (which means changing) its algorithm to make the most accurate results come up first.
Generally, though it comes to 2 major parts:
- On-Site Content, i.e. what your site is really about.
- Off-Site “Votes” that your site is important, and about that given topic.
SEO has easily become a full time job and then some, over time, SEO is even getting further segmented by area of expertise – so becoming a master is like trying to learn brain surgery in a few weeks – if you are in a competitive industry.
